CEO - Chief Executive Officer

Hello, entrepreneurial friends, business owners, and CEOs!

Today's topic is meant to lighten things up a bit because if we don’t laugh, we might as well cry together, right? Despite our busy schedules, there’s always time to catch up on sector news through articles and documentaries. So far, so good, as calm as still water.

However, I’ve noticed a lot of young folks starting corner businesses and self-proclaiming as CEOs. No offense intended, but it seems worth mentioning. In my travels, I’ve met several CEOs, both here and abroad, and, my friends, the situation is often more complex than it appears!

Let me use a metaphor here... There are many CEO roles where the "pickle" ends up being more troublesome than it seems, and negotiations need to be continuous. And I'm not just talking about business dealings. Unfortunately, I have CEO friends who have seen their family relationships deteriorate, leaving spouses and children to dedicate themselves entirely to the company.

Essentially, such a position means that the individual doesn't have a personal life. But I also want to give credit where it’s due, like in the photo I took from the internet for this post (not my own work), where workers and managers truly get their hands dirty, running their businesses or others' with humility.

Friends, let's be cautious... I'll share an incident that happened about 12 years ago in my town. I went to an event and at the entrance, they couldn’t find my name. The guy who came to assist the receptionist stopped me with quite a stern tone. I asked him what his role was and he dropped a gem: "I’m the MANAGER".

This same "MANAGER" later showed up at a fitness company I owned at the time and didn’t have the money to fulfill his commitment to me. My receptionist called me over and, when he saw me, he looked more terrified than an “old lady in a canoe”. Of course, I was polite, but inwardly, I felt otherwise...
